A Frugal Guide on Where to Get Tacos in Every Port on a Baja Peninsula Cruise🛳️🛳️🛳️

If you’re going on a 7 day cruise around the Baja Peninsula round trip San Diego….. I gotchu ⬇️⬇️⬇️

1️⃣ San Diego:
📌This spot has insane al pastor tacos. The meat has a perfect char, the tortillas freshly made, and they know how to add all the toppings just right
📌While I hear there are some other stellar taco spots in San Diego, they aren’t walkable from the cruise port.

2️⃣La Paz: Claro Fish Jr.
📌Head down and a bit off the Malecon to Claro Fish Jr.
📌The fish tacos have a perfect crunch, and I’ve become obsessed with the coconut shrimp tacos that have an irresistible hint of sweetness.
📌They have a well stocked toppings bar meaning you can dress up the tacos however you like
🤫It’s way cheaper than the spots right off the shuttle drop off point. Plus it feels more local (AKA you won’t be surrounded by cruise ship passengers…)

3️⃣Loreto: Nanys Tacos
📌Head off the main pedestrianized street to this cute mom and pop shop.
📌The menu is small, so you know what they are producing is stellar.
📌Each taco is made to order and served as soon as it’s ready, meaning the fried fish and shrimp tacos were super crunchy. (Quick fryer to mouth time is critical!!!)
🤫You’ll pay triple for worse tacos at the “trendy” spots in Loreto…..

4️⃣Cabo: Tacos El Paisa
📌Cabo is tricky…. And admittedly not my favorite place and I usually stay on the ship to avoid tendering.
📌BUT the one taco spot I’d go back to is Tacos El Paisa.
📌The al pastor tacos have solid flavor and the prices are very reasonable.

📌Partly because I look forward to it everything embark day in San Diego. ✅Mostly because the flavors are epic  
 the holiday line up doesn’t disappoint  
I got the: 
Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache➡️
Almond brittle, salted chocolate ganache, vanilla ice cream  
The Great Cookie Swap➡️
Coconut cream, classic holiday cookies, Biscoff® cookie butter. I’m shook that this is vegan and can’t get over it.  

next time I’ve got my eyes on the eggnog and gingerbread cookie dough 👀👀

 if you’re visiting PV on a ship, @pasteleriapavlova is not convenient… but lemme say this tres leches is worth it!Plus it’s always fun seeing a new area ☺️

There are only 5 things on the menu, and they know what they are doing….
 🌮The fried fish and shrimp were super light and crunchy, (and only 40mxn/$2usd a pop) 🌮the grilled fish was LOADED with fish!

plus the service was great 😊

Claro Fish Jr. in La Paz serves up some SOLID food.  
I tried the
🌮coconut shrimp
🌮fried fish 🌮grilled fish 
 and DEFINITELY would go back for more 👌  
Plus it’s a bit back and out from the main tourist center, so it feels a lot less chaotic— the perf#ect spot if you are visiting on a ship and want to avoid other people from the ship 😅

I had no idea where to get dim sum in San Francisco’s Chinatown….

But I think I choose well 😊😊😊 
The only gripe was I ended up with so much food for one 😂

Hold These Friends Close…..

It was my first time trying @saltandstraw and lemme say I’ll be back!

The Thanksgiving flavors were super innovative… .we’re talking sweet potato casserole and turkey stuffing with cranberry sauce folks…

The winner was the Parker House Rolls with Salted Buttercream👌

PLUS we ordered a medium with split flavor scoops that somehow turned into 4 huge scoops of ice cream!

Already plotting to go back 👀👀👀
