The Alaska cruise port foodie scene is dominated by all things seafood. Chowder, numerous varieties of fish and chips, crab legs…. if it’s a fish or crustacean swimming around in the Gulf of Alaska, you’ll find it on a menu. But what if you don’t like seafood? Or, like in my case, what if you simply don’t want to shell out $30 for an order or fish and chips or $100 for a crab leg?
I’m looking for the best Alaska eats that won’t totally break the bank, which of course has led me to one of my all time favorite foods: pizza.
Because let’s be real, what’s better than a massive pizza and ice cold Alaskan beer following an epic hike through the mountains and forests of Alaska? I’ve had my fare share of Alaska cruise port pizza, and it’s time to share my findings…..
Let’s dive into the best Alaskan cruise port pizza options to enjoy at each stop on your Alaskan cruise!
Ketchikan: Fat Stan’s Sports Bar and Pizzeria
Fat Stan’s Sports Bar and Pizzeria is a family-operated establishment that has been serving up brews and pies since 2002. It has the perfect level of grunge that feels unpretentious, yet friendly and inviting. AKA you won’t have 10 locals giving you the side-eye making you feel like that beer better be your last.
There are craft cocktails and well drinks on offer as well as a handful of local beers on tap. Alaska’s beer game is strong, and it’s refreshing to go to a sports bar serving up more than Bud Lite and PBR. As for food, there’s a decent selection of “Stanwiches” as well as a solid pizza menu. We built our own with pepperoni, peppers, and jalapeños, and I must admit I was surprised by how darn delicious is was.

The crust was thin with the right balance of crunch to chew. There was just enough sauce that tasted light and bright. I appreciated the fact that there wasn’t an overwhelming amount of cheese and it didn’t taste outrageously salted. Plus, they didn’t skimp on the pepperoni.
In the grand scheme of pizza, Fat Stan’s ain’t cheap. $25-$35 for an 18″ pizza isn’t what I’d call frugal. But when you consider the alternative of noshing on $100 crab legs next door, Fat Stan’s seems like a steal!
Juneau: Devil’s Club Brewery
Devil’s Club Brewery is a Frugal Foodies go-to in Juneau. This craft brewery has a stellar selection of beers with delicious food to match. While their regular menu boasts sandwiches and tasty bar bites, every Wednesday something special happens. Pizza night!

Each Wednesday there’s a new pizza menu, and you can count on them to switch it up big time. One week in May, the menu was totally inspired by Mexican dishes. On our latest visit, we had the above options to choose from. Jeremy and I are a, “You get one, I get another, we’ll split them both” type of couple. But we both ended up getting the Gene Wilder.

The sauce was simultaneously rich and bright with just a slight pop of acidity to compliment the mozzarella. Fresno chilis added a little heat and slight crunch. A generous handful of basil tied everything together. All in all, an extremely solid pie and one of the best Alaska cruise port pizza options out there!

Skagway: Skagway Pizza Parlor

A massive, piping hot pizza following a long, strenuous hike is my definition of paradise. Skagway has no shortage of long hikes, and Skagway Pizza Parlor is the place to head to afterwards. The ambiance is, shall we say, bare bones? Bright lights, no decor, and counter-service only. But there are loads of pizza options on offer and they come out hot and fast.

On our visit, we got a large pie with pepperoni, onions, black olives, and jalapeños. The crust was super thin with a nice crunch, and it was totally loaded with toppings. There was no shortage of cheese, and it had just enough sauce. There’s nothing revolutionary about the flavors, textures, and ingredients. But it’s a solid pizza that you’ll thoroughly enjoy in the moment.
This pizza set us back just under $40 after tax and tip. Not frugal. But I certainly did not leave feeling hungry
All three of these Alaska cruise port pizza options are sure to leave you feeling full and (hopefully) happy.
