Bang Cookies is a New Jersey based business that serves up and ships out giant, gooey, gourmet cookies that aren’t overly sweet and absolutely divine. The company uses adult-themed innuendos to turn heads alongside advertising it’s commitment to using all natural, organic, non-GMO ingredients. While the two branding pushes clash, the flavor profiles in the product certainly don’t, making it home to some of the best cookies in New Jersey.
The History of Bang Cookies:
This company entered Union City with a Bang (pun intended) in 2016, and has been serving up and shipping out gourmet confections ever since. You can find all your favorite traditional cookie flavors alongside a wide variety of stuffed and deluxe options such as sea salt caramel and rocky road. Or, if you’re feeling frisky, try out a boozy cookie (the bourbon walnut toffee is something special…)
Bang Cookies has taken on a provocative advertising campaign to grab attention and set itself apart from the pack. The website has innuendos galore and if you head to the shop in Union City Heights, there’s a neon sign brightly reading “I got Banged in New Jersey.”
What Sets Bang Cookies Apart?
Gimmicks aside, what makes Bang special isn’t the vibe and verbiage around the cookies, but the ingredients that go inside. George Kuan, the owner, only uses organic, natural, non-gmo ingredients with free range eggs and grass-fed butter. While I would be lying if I took a bite and was able to exclaim, “Wow! This non gmo flavor is amazing!”, I rather not pump my body full of chemicals and I like to support a business that values the environment.
More importantly, opting to make a product that is organic and non-gmo serves as a valuable signal to the consumer. It says, “Hey! We have put a lot of time, money, thought, and care into our product!”, which usually translates to a higher standard and quality. Granted, it also translates to a higher price tag ranging from $4.50 for a standard cookie and up to $6 for a boozy one. But hey, grass-fed butter from New Zealand has its price.
What Makes Them the Best Cookies In New Jersey?
The end product at Bang Cookies is absurdly delicious. Each pillow of joy has a crunchy outside and an ooey-gooey center. Your palate isn’t blown away by overwhelming sweetness, allowing you to appreciate the complexity and depth of flavors apart from pure sugar. We sprung for the S’mores and Bourbon Walnut Toffee for our first trip, and were sold by bite one.
I know what you’re thinking…. “Katie, there’s no way I’m going to Jersey for a cookie……”
Luckily, you don’t have to, Bang Cookies deliverers!
Bang Cookies absolutely is a competitor with the major NYC cookie players including Levain and Chip, and any cookie fanatic should give it a Bang.

likewise! What is your favorite cookie shop?
I can’t recall visiting a cookie centric shop before, but there was this little tiny bakery in my home town in Pennsylvania that was outstanding! If you ever travel to the Poconos I will look it up for you!
