If you want to get a New Yorker heated, ask them where to get the best bagel in New York.
Old schooler’s will likely say Zucker’s Bagels, Russ and Daughters, or H & H. New Schooler’s will probably vote for Black Seed Bagels, Tompkins Square Bagel Bagels, and if they are #trendy, the new Popup Bagels. Both might toss out Absolute Bagels.
Both parties will probably put a warrant out for my arrest with this following statement….

1. The Weezer from Tompkins Square Bagels
This bad boy has chorizo, bacon, egg, and scallion cream cheese. The cream cheese is subtley oniony with a nice soft creamy texture. It soaks up the saltiness of the egg and bacon, and everything is heightened by a kick of chorizo.
2. Sausage/Bacon, Egg, and Cheese from Best Bagel and Coffee
Best Bagel and Coffee is one of my go spots for New York bagel sandwiches. It’s close to the train station, the wait times aren’t terribly long, and the classic bagel sandwiches are consistently good. The eggs are fresh and moist. The cheese is gooey and melted. There’s plenty of meat. Plus, the bagels are amazingly chewy and ever so fluffy.
3. The Srirachacha from Brooklyn Bagel and Coffee
Not only is “Sriachacha” incredibly fun to say, but this New York bagel sandwich is mind blowingly delicious. It boasts eggs, sausage, cheese & honey bacon sriracha cream cheese. You read that right… BACON SRIRACHA CREAM CHEESE. It has the perfect nudge of heat and is totally loaded with eggs with just enough cheese to add some flare without totally overwhelming your palate
