If you are looking for fluffy, sweet, delectable doughnuts in Brisbane that won’t break the bank, I’ve found the spot for you:
Dough Ma
This hole in the wall shop is located in Mt. Gravatt. Flavors range from taro cream to Snickers to Golden Gaytime (a popular Aussie ice cream) to Biscoff cheesecake. One will set you back $4, but if you can’t decide on a flavor, go for the gold and get a box of 6 for $18!
In a foodie world stuffed with “artisanal”, “small-batch”, “hand made” doughnuts for $6.50 a pop, $3 is a total steal!
The best part? Dough Ma’s doughnuts aren’t only cheap, but they are oh so delectable.
The star is the cream. It is velvety in texture and perfectly light without being airy, making for a satisfying mouth feel. Added flavors are subtle without being cloyingly sweet, making for a sophisticated flavor experience that doesn’t overwhelm the palate.
As a foodie committed to honesty, I must share one critique: the doughnuts themselves are dangerously close to the line of being too bready. I want my doughnut to be a melt-in-you-mouth sweet treat, not a hamburger bun. Luckily the cream adds a much needed moisture to each bite to save the day.
Our Dough Ma Picks:
While the Caramilk and Golden Gaytime were perfectly tasty, the flavors didn’t pop and the hard topping crumbled everywhere. The taro and Aero Gold Biscoff cheesecake had lovely discrete flavors and the cream truly shined. I was obsessed with the Ferraro Rocher. It tasted exactly like the chocolate and each bite was a complete delight. Our favorite was the caramel cream. The caramel had that perfect burnt butter flavor that meshed with the cream and the doughnut perfectly.
The flavors are constantly rotating, and you can check out their Instagram for the latest!
Wrapping it all up….
If you’re looking for affordable doughnuts that still taste and look gourmet, Dough Ma is the place for you!

You shouldn’t, you really shouldn’t, show these to someone desperately trying to shift the Covid excess from around the waist.
lol a bit ‘fancy’ for me!
Omg, I need an entire box to eat for myself, please.
I can’t believe we ended up eating them all! but so worth it!
